The food at vandal is not mexican. or at least it isn’t authentic mexican. it’s more of an homage to the latino food trucks of Los Angeles
In LA, Mexican cuisine is the default base upon which to interpret other food traditions - think freshness, spice and rich flavours - and then mix them with complimentary flavours and the cooking techniques from migrant homelands - and you create magical fun food.
At Vandal, we’re not big on traditional sit down meals, all our food can - and should - be inhaled in one hand with a margarita in the other.
We never want to define ourselves in a way that puts us in a corner, ever-evolving and free to experiment with our food - some people say we’ve ‘vandalised’ mexican food - they’re probably right - but to those naysayers we say ‘f*ck em’, we cook what we want - how we want - no rules, just fun with flavours.
oh, we’re one hundred plant-based and we kick ass - if we don’t want to pillage the earth of its natural resources and kill innocent animals in the process - that’s our prerogative right ?!?
